Event AgendaFood waste is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions. Nature-based solutions for communities, such as composting, recycle food waste into soil, generating substantial environmental and climate benefits. This event will bring together leaders, researchers, and on-site recycling practitioners to share their expertise and good practices in reducing GHG emissions from food waste in the community through kitchen waste management, composting, and other methods.

Vanke Foundation Snow Leopard Project Show

The Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is one of the most sensitive and fragile ecosystems in the face of current climate change. The snow leopard, a magnificent flagship species of the region, serves as a crucial indicator of local ecological health. In 2013, Vanke Foundation, in collaboration with relevant local government departments in Xizang, launched the “Snow Leopard Conservation Strategy”. Featuring pictures and videos, this exhibition will present to the audience the rich biodiversity of Mount Qomolangma and the accomplishments of our “Snow Leopard Conservation Strategy”.

This exhibit will showcase the objectives and achievements of the ongoing "Zero Waste Palace Museum" project, jointly launched in 2020 by Vanke Foundation and the Palace Museum. Through multimedia presentations and creative cultural products, it will highlight China's ancient civilization and contemporary innovations, illustrating how the project's precise scientific methodology and public participation have contributed to progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including the ultimate vision of "reducing landfill and incineration waste to nearly zero" at the Palace Museum.

Situated on the coast of one of China's largest mega-cities, the Meisha Community in Shenzhen is renowned for its eco-friendly environment and is a popular tourist destination. Since 2021, Vanke Foundation has collaborated with community government and other partners to explore ways to build a carbon-neutral community. This flash show will give a 20-minute demonstration of Meisha's low-carbon and green lifestyle through dioramas, videos, and pictures.
