Side Event: Public Participation in Building a Beautiful China
This side event will explore how to harness the strengths of government, academia, businesses, and NGOs to effectively communicate climate change issues, raise public awareness, and enhance domestic efforts to tackle climate challenges—all contributing to building a Beautiful China. Vanke Foundation will bring together project partners, including experts from the Palace Museum and Nanjing University (Lishui) Ecological Environment Research Institute, to share insights and progress on initiatives such as zero waste, green heritage conservation, and community composting.

Vanke Foundation Climate Action Exhibition
Through this two-day exhibition in the Blue Zone, we aim to present the ambitious and sustainable vision of "China's Power in Action" to the world through the fruitful results of various climate initiatives, including the protection of snow leopard habitats on Mount Qomolangma, Zero Waste in the Palace Museum, the development of carbon-neutral communities, organic waste management using black soldier flies, and green initiatives by community residents, through an immersive multimedia experience.

This event will showcase exemplary climate action initiatives from Chinese enterprises to the world. Side Event: China Enterprise Day Opening
The “China Enterprise Day” launch ceremony at COP29 is hosted by Vanke Foundation and the Bureau of Social Responsibility of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). Mr. Wang Shi, Chairman of Vanke Foundation, will be present, along with senior government officials and business representatives from around the world.
Since 2013, Vanke Foundation has consistently supported the establishment and operation of the China Pavilion at COP and organized the annual “China Enterprise Day” side events, which showcase the initiatives and solutions of Chinese businesses, to promote corporate engagement in climate action.

It is designed for policymakers, technology providers, NGOs, and industry leaders looking to collaborate on effective and scalable methane reduction strategies.
Vanke Foundation will present in the event and share our experience in black soldier fly and community-based kitchen waste composting.

Side Event: People-Centered Transition to a Circular Economy: Creating the Enabling Factors
The circular economy represents a systemic countermeasure to climate change, with aims to regenerate resources through recycling, reuse, remanufacturing, and waste reduction. This side event will explore the key drivers behind a "people-centered circular economy," covering aspects such as consumer behavior, shifts in consumption culture, community engagement, job creation and training, and enhancing public awareness of circular economy principles.
Co-hosted by Vanke Foundation, China Association of Circular Economy, and Guangdong Low-Carbon Development Promotion Association, this event will bring experts from NGOs and the academic sector to share insights and experiences through presentations and panel discussions.
